Pure contentment!

Mom and her babies on the first day!

here are the first 4!

So busy and tired!

We've been sooooo busy after the birth of Olive and Milton's 6 babies! They eat and sleep and eat and sleep and squeak! They are so cute. I just haven't had the time to upload a picture, nor call or email everyone back about the details, so please be patient with me!
Lack of sleep, makes for a scattered "Grandma" so bear with me.

All is well and they are growing chubby already. Olive is a great Mom and stays with her babies constantly. She is also very ravenous and thirsty from all the nursing, but boy did she lose the weight she gained, fast! Wish it were like that for us women!!

Anyway, I'll try to get a pic up soon, but in the meantime, check out the puppy cam at www.justin.tv/frogdog4me

A bientot!

Two More!

We just had two more. The final count is now 6 puppies (3 girls, 3 boys).

4's A Good Number!

We've now have 4 healthy puppies! Two boys, and two girls. 3 seal brindle (1boy, 2 girls), and 1 black and white pied (boy). We think it's pretty much done now. Pics soon!

Three's Company

Now we've got 3! It is another brindle one but its a girl this time. The other ones are doing well and we are getting the third one stimulated. More Later.

They're a comin' !!

So far there are 2. Both males. One looks like Olive, black and white on the chest, the other a black and white pied (spotted like a cow). Very exciting and so cute. Pics later!

Getting used to the whelping box!

So now she's getting used to the whelping box and nesting with the towels and piddle pad liners.

When she pants, she looks like she's smiling! She gets energized, then tired.

25 March 2009

She's starting to pant!

Ok, so the panting has started and it will be about 12-24 hours that we should have a delivery! WOW!! Exciting, but we won't get much sleep tonight or for the next few weeks! Oh! I'm tired already!!

I Think She's About Ready!!

Olive is getting really close! She was trying to nest all day, would not eat, and is acting kind of nervous. I wouldn't be surprised if they arrive sometime tomorrow!!
We'll see!
Pray for us that all goes well!

Still Waiting!

We are still waiting for Ollie's pups to arrive. Since the date was pushed back by a week or so, the earliest would be tomorrow and the latest, I think, would be this Friday! She is getting wider and wider, and I can see movement and ripples on her sides! Very exciting!! She's still able to go on some pretty long walks, but she is ravenous, and eats often throughout the day!

More later...

Still Waiting!

Poll Results!

For those of you who voted 4, you are most likely correct! The Ultrasound definitely showed 4, but the doctor said he wouldn't rule out 5! I guess you are K-9 savvy! I'm glad she is not having 8 or 9! That would be tooooo many! Though one of my daughters said she could "only have 9, since she has 9 nipples to suck from!" But, 4 is very doable!

Yesterday, Olive was feeling under the weather, she wouldn't eat, not even treats, and when she did try to eat, she just threw it up! I guess dogs get morning sickness, too! :(

Today, though, she is back to her happy and hungry self! I guess the yoghurt helped her system, and she loves it!

That's it, and thanks for voting!!

Trip to the vet!

So Olive went to the vet today to have and X-ray and Ultrasound! The X-ray was not conclusive, but the Ultrasound showed some puppies heads, spines and heartbeats! It was cool to see; just like going to the Doctor for a woman's Ultrasound! Very cool, indeed!

Though, it looks like she is due around the 23rd-25th, rather than the 20th; so we still have a bit of time to prepare!

Take the poll and try to guess how many she may have! (just a note: she came from a litter of 10!) Good luck!

About 2 weeks to go!

Hi there! Olive is due around the 20th of March, that's only 2 weeks to get ready! Hopefully, the whelping box will be completed this weekend. If Olive is going to stay in there with her pups (rather than in my bed), she needs to get used to it!

She's been extra hungry and sleepy these past few days, but still enjoys some exercise in between the raindrops!

That's the latest update, feel free to comment. I'd love to hear from you! :}
